The Camping Trip

Sarah woke up early on Saturday morning, excited about the camping trip her family had planned for weeks. After eating a quick breakfast of toast and jam, she helped her dad load the tent and sleeping bags into the car boot. The family set off at 8 o'clock, singing songs during the two-hour drive to the national park.

When they arrived at the campsite, Sarah's mum unpacked the food while Sarah and her younger brother, Tom, explored the area. They discovered a small stream with smooth, round stones perfect for skipping. Later that afternoon, Dad taught them how to set up the tent, showing them how to hammer in the pegs and attach the rain fly.

As the sun began to set, the family gathered wood for a campfire. Sarah carefully arranged the kindling while Dad struck the match. Once the fire was crackling, Mum brought out marshmallows for toasting. After enjoying their sweet treats, they sat around the fire telling stories until the stars appeared overhead.

Finally, tired from their busy day, everyone crawled into their sleeping bags. Sarah fell asleep listening to the gentle sounds of the forest around her.
