Mia's Discovery

Mia noticed a small, injured bird near the playground at lunchtime. While other children ran past to play, she knelt down carefully beside it. "Don't worry, little one," she whispered softly.

She gently picked up the bird and carried it to her teacher, Miss Chen. "We need to help it," Mia said with determination. Miss Chen smiled and helped Mia make a small, comfortable box with soft tissues.

For the rest of the day, Mia checked on the bird whenever she could. She even gave up her reading time to sit quietly beside it. When her friend Jake asked her to play football, she shook her head. "I need to stay with the bird," she explained. "It might be frightened."

The next morning, Mia brought a small dish of water and some seeds from home. She had spent the evening researching what birds eat. By afternoon, the bird was strong enough to fly. As it soared into the sky, Mia clapped her hands together, her face beaming with joy.
