Lily loved to help people. Every day after school, she would water the plants in her classroom. She always had a big smile on her face.
One Tuesday, Lily noticed her friend Tom sitting alone at lunch. He had his head down and wasn't eating his sandwich. Lily walked over and sat next to him.
"What's wrong, Tom?" asked Lily gently.
"I forgot my library book at home," said Tom quietly. "Now I can't swap it for a new one. I really wanted to read the dinosaur book." A tear rolled down his cheek.
Lily thought for a moment. "You can share my book today," she said with a warm smile. "We can read it together at reading time!"
Tom's face brightened. "Really? Thank you, Lily! You're such a good friend." He started eating his sandwich and felt much better.
